Here you will find some miscellaneous hints or the useful gameplay tips and tricks for your Sims 3 game.
So there I will speak about the in-game progression hints, give some descriptions and other things that will match that theme.
However, for the cheats, look on the Cheats list article page, and I have also wrote a list of Shortcuts for the sims 3 in an other separate article.
This article may be fullfilled with a time.

Here are the advices for the sims game that I found on the official site or from some another sites.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Base game tips & tricks:
There are the hints that are compatible with the base game:
Skills tips:
 Mastering Skill:
  • To speed the skill development process, spend your Lifetime Happiness points on the Fast Learner Lifetime Reward. This kicks up the rate at which new skills are acquired for the remainder of the Sim’s life.
  • Sims who develop the Charisma skill increase the effectiveness of social interactions at work, such as Meet Co-Workers or Suck Up to Boss. Whenever you use a positive social, the Charisma skill gets a little boost.
  • The Logic skill helps students complete homework faster. Using the Ask for Help with Homework interaction also speeds up homework time, as long as the Sim helping is in a good mood.
 Fishing skill:
  • Looking for a certain type of fish? The Robot Fish can only be caught at the pond at the Landgraab Industries Science Facility. The Vampire Fish can only be caught at the pond in the graveyard. The best time to go fishing is between 4AM and 6AM. This is when the best and biggest fish are biting!
 Cooking skill:
  • Here’s a little something that will make your Sim’s Cooking career all the more beneficial to household happiness: recipe repetition. Don’t worry that your Sims will be disappointed with eating the same meal over and over. There’s no negative moodlet for this.
  • Also, the more frequently your Sim prepares a specific recipe, the better they get at it—and the better the meal turns out. This sub-skill is invisible, but it is indeed tracked. If your Sim make waffles repeatedly, one day they’ll perfect their recipe and make sublime waffles! Waffles so scrumptious that Sims will get the same mood boost out of eating them as they would from consuming gourmet fare.
Avoiding Grim Reaper to take away your sim:
  •  Go to your town's graweyard and find the bush called "Death Flower Bush" near this location. Or explore the catacombs (gardening skill level 7 or more is however required), plant it and wait until it grows up. Also the Unknown Special Seeds found in the graveyard and in some other places, once planted,  may grow up as a Death Flower.  Harvest that flower, then keep it in your inventory. When your Sim will die and Grim reaper will come, this Sim will give that flower to the Death which will ressurect the Sim. The Death flower plant will not however give you more than one flower on the same bush, so the plant will die once you pick up its flower. But, the Sims who have the Green Thumb trait can try to make revive the dead plant.
Choose yourself which kind of kid, boy or girl will have your pregnant sim:
  • There is a hint that only works on a pregnant sim. If may want that she would have a girl then make her eat watermelons, otherwise, if you want a boy make her eat apples. You don't need to use fertility treatment to make it work. Each fruit she eat will give you a 33% chance at each gender. Eat 3 watermelons, and you will have a 99% chance at a girl. Eat 3 apples, and you will get a 99% chance at a boy. But don't let her eat watermelons if you want to get a boy and vice-versa no apples for a girl.
Increase her chance to have twins or triplets:
  • While your sim is pregnant, make her watch the kids Channel on TV and make her listen to the kids music. To do this, place your sims radio spot in the same room that the TV, turn on the radio and set it to Kids Music, then let her watch the KidZone on the TV at the same time, all through-put the pregnancy. It increases the chance for twins or triplets. Make sure that it is all that she watches/listens to.
Miscellanneous tips:
  • Wan't to learn skills more quickly? Go to the library and make your sim read a skill book. The library would give a positive moodlet to your sim which makes him learn this skill faster.
  • Acquisition of a new things has a positive effect on your sims. If in the room, there appear two or more new objects, your sim will get a positive moodlet "New Stuff! " with a +20 pts mood effect, for a certain time.
Supernatural add-on (only) hints:
These advices are concerning the feautures which are specific of The Sims 3 Supernatural EP.
  • Can't stand the sun rays? (vampires)
Vampires prefer to be outside when the sun is down so what do you do if you want to go outside and enjoy the sunlight? Without a healthy dose of sunscreen applied your vampire sim you’ll receive a "Heating Up" moodlet. Create some Vampiric Sunscreen using Bloodstone Powder and Valerian Root of course! If your sim doesn’t take shelter soon they could pass out or even die. So just like real life - cover up!
  • Toadification Curse (witch)
Once your sim reaches level four of your hidden spellcasting skill you'll have the ability to turn other sims heads into toad heads. Like most spells, there is a chance it will backfire and turn your sim into a toad. Either way, it sure is fun to see a toad Sim snap flies out of the air with their long tongues. A kiss will turn the toad sim back to normal.
  • Hunting and collecting!  (werewolves)
One of the main benefits of being a werewolf is that your sim can find anything from uncommon to rare collectables while they're hunting. Can you find a rare truffle or the Glow Orb mushroom? You can choose to have your Sim hunt alone or in a pack. What are you waiting for - get started to see what you can find.
  • Fairy Auras (fairies)
When a fairy enters the room, they bring their auras with them. Your fairy sim's aura will affect the productivity and moods of other sims within the area of projection. There are three different types of auras that you can emit depending on the level of your hidden fairy skill. The auras that are available are the Aura of Soothing, Aura of Body and Mind, and Aura of Creativity. Not only will these affect other sims, but your fairy sim will also reap the benefits.
  • Bonehilda the skeleton maid is back! (general tip)
One of the coolest things from The Sims 1 is now back in The Sims™ 3 Supernatural. Say hello to Bonehilda once again! For just 3,999 Simoleons you can have your very own live-in (or rather dead-in) maid. Bonehilda is a great worker and addition to your family. She'll scare away any criminal and can even extinguish most fires - just don't expect to have any deep conversations with her. Also if your household own a dog, she will train it to do new tricks, if she hasn't any work to do at that time.
